Revamp of RC Centres

In view of the latest news on this topic, our RC has already set the infrastructure for since 2002.  If you do not know, what was it that our RC does, differently from other RCs till today ?

Click Here - News Article From Straits Times

It was reported at last paragraph as follows :

The RC centres at void decks will also be transformed into "club houses" for residents, who can use the space to hold their private functions such as birthday parties and family gatherings. These centres will also extend their opening hours for more residents to benefit from the facilities. Each centre will hire a manager to run it, unlike the current practice of staffing it with volunteers.

We are pleased to offer, since 2002 as follows :

Space to hold private functions

Our Resident Corner, next to RC Centre, has been a space for residents to use (with permission).  Our RC supports them by providing additional 30 chairs and 5 tables at no cost.

Extend Opening Hours for residents to benefit

The venue of resident corner is not in locked premise, as such there is no necessity to worry about time of use, unless we are referring to wee hours and early mornings.

Hire A Manager

We have a 24 hour hotline (which if no one answers, it will go to voice mail, or we will return missed calls), email queries responded within 24 hours and also updated blogsites to reach us .... all done by dedicated volunteers that helps build ownership and sense of belonging for the volunteers.

Scavenger Hunters

Residents who wish to discard bags of used items (dry ones and not food), please throw it inside the CRC - Central Refuse Chute, accessing it by opening the louvre. By leaving it exposed on the ground floor, scavengers will just strip open everything in the bag and leave a huge mess .... very unfair to the cleaners of our estate as they have to clear the debris caused by inconsiderate people going through the bags and leaving a mess.

Raining Books !

On 18 April, at around 5.45pm, the RC received a call through our hotline that there is a unit at Block 787, seen throwing books from their windows.  Not just one book, but many many books ...

I am sure it could be out of anger or other reasons that the books were thrown without regard to any human lives walking on the pathway ... so, next time you walked below HDB flats, don't be surprised to see other form of droplets instead of cats and dogs ...
